I have come to the conclusion I just do not like front loading washing machines. I really don't feel like they get the clothes cleaned very well. Anyone else experience this?

Well, considering I worked in home appliance repair long enough to know pretty much any home appliance inside and out... I would say you might have a hard time finding something I haven't dealt with, on that one. But I will definitely say that if your washing machine was a top-loader, with no auger, then it would get your clothing even less clean. Believe me, nearly all front-loaders are better than a top-loader with no auger.

Mine at home is a top loader with the auger... the one where we are staying right now is a front loader. Despite me not over loading it or anything like that, sometimes I can still smell my husbands cologne on his shirts... just seems like it's not cleaning very well to me.... maybe I am wrong but I think I like my top loader at home better.

I'm a top loader girl all the way. Might be the water is it soft or hard water? Maybe the soap is not rinsing completely and holding in the odor. Do you use washing soda? If there is hard water it could cause this.

Giiiirl, I use multiple tide pods (depending on the load size), scent beads and a cup of color bleach! There really should be NO reason. LOL! I do the same exact thing at home and never have this situation. I have no idea the water condition at this apartment though.... I do know that I even have it run an extra rinse cycle to make sure no residue from soap or scent beads is left behind.

Maybe try some washing soda…. I know how frustrating it can be. Trust me. Lol One thing I can’t stand is washing something and not having it smell clean after I remove it. I use these cleaning tablets on my washer once a month. Not many know you should also wash your washer. All those pods cause a lot of buildup in the washer as well and cause your clothing to smell it’s also very hard on the water pump because they build up in it and can cause it to fail but man they are so convenient. Lol I also do this with my dishwasher there are special cleaners for build up for them as well.
My issue was the water making our cloth smell like rust. After we got a whole house house water filter it really helped. *hugs*

Yeh I use cleaners and run a cycle on my washer and dishwasher at home as well. Here these are not my machines though. I have to be careful what I use as to not mess up the machines.

The front-end loaders are more entertaining to watch though unless you are one to sit on them for whatever reason. I don't think it matters but the quality of the make is what matters in performance like in most other things. ;)

It has been a crazy past few weeks! SO much traveling and flipping schedules. I have been totally out of sorts! It has felt what I imagine it would feel like when Dorothy's house is picked up and spinning through the air in The Wizard Of Oz! I am starting to feel a sense of normality that will last roughly 11 more days before flipping schedules yet again.

I think I finally caught up on reading the journals and seeing what everyone has been up to. I like so many of you are ready for Autumn and the cool hoodie wearing weather! I am looking forward to baking all the tasty treats and I crave the traditional Witches Brew that I make on Halloween.

Do any of you have any traditions for Halloween?
